You're probably aware that Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for approximately 1 in 3 deaths each year.

But there's something you can do about it.

As you can probably guess, research shows your chance of having a heart attack goes up if you gain fat.

However ...

A new study shows you're almost 3 times more likely to have a heart attack if you lose muscle.

In other words,

Gaining muscle is more important than not gaining fat in the prevention of heart disease.

Typically, your muscle mass is greatest in your mid-twenties. By the time you're 50, you've lost about 10%.

Muscle loss then tends to accelerate with many women losing an additional of 30% by age 80.

The good news is that the study concludes:

"It is never too late to initiate control of
body composition changes, even in old age. "
